In Europe and in America it is popular in beverages like ginger ale, ginger beer and ginger tea which are enjoyed for taste and also to cure stomach ailments. The antioxidant properties of ginger have made it a long popular herbal cure for colds and coughs. The best way to have ginger is to cut about 2 tablespoons of ginger into small pieces and boil it in a cup of water. Strain and add a teaspoon of sugar and drink it when hot. This is an effective remedy for curing common cold. Ginger is the best tonics for the stomach, initiating digestion and toning up the intestinal muscles. Mix 2 tablespoons of ginger juice with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and a pinch of salt and black pepper and drink it with pr without water to ward off stomach aches. Ginger helps to destroy bacteria and fight fever and headache. A concoction made with equal amounts of mint leaves mixed with ginger juice is good to chase away a fever along with any cold and cough. The gingerols in ginger oil have an anti inflammatory effect and help in relieving pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and other muscular disorder. |
