Basella alba is a perennial vine found in the tropics where it is widely used as a leaf vegetable. It grows well under full sunlight in hot, humid climates and in areas lower than 500 m above sea level.

Barringtonia acutangula is an evergreen tree of moderate size. A medium sized glabrous tree 10-15 m in height with pale grey slender young branches and rough dark brown bark; leaves simple, alternate, obovate-oblong or elliptic-cuneate.

Bambusa arundinacea grows up to 1500 – 2000 meters elevation. It is an erect, 15-35 meters tall, thorny tree , with many stems. The plant is hollow between the joints, with 2-3 alternate thorns on the stem. Their leaves sheathing, linear, 20 cm long and 2 cm broad, lanceolate, tapering in the pointed tips.

Baliospermum montanum commonly known as  Danti , is a leafy, monoecious under shrub distributed throughout India, Burma and Malaya.

Bacopa monniera, is a small, creeping herb with numerous branches, succulent, rooting at the nodes, with numerous prostrate branches, each 10-30 cm long. This plant has a number of uses in Ayurveda. It is a traditional treatment for epilepsy and asthma.

Azadirachta indica, or Neem  is a genus  of tree in the flowering plant. It is an evergreen tree. The tree will reach up to 100 feet (~30 m) tall with limbs reaching half as wide.

Averrhoa carambola is a species of woody plant. It has a number of common names including Carambola and Starfruit. Averrhoa carambola is an attractive, small, slow-growing evergreen tree with a short-trunk or a shrub.

Averrhoa bilimbi tree is very closely related to the Carambola but it differs in appearance, flavor, manner of fruiting, etc. This is essentially a tropical tree, less resistant to cold than the carambola, growing best in rich and well-drained soil (but also stands limestone and sand).

Asparagus racemosus is a creeper. It prefers to take root in gravelly, rocky soils, high up in piedmont plains (1,300 - 1,400 meters elev.). The plant is used both internally as well as externally. The medicated oil is the best medicament, in vata diseases and vata – pitta diseases of the head, useful for massage.

Asclepias curassavica is a species of evergreen perennial plant in the milkweed family. It is grown as an ornamental garden plant and as a source of food for butterflies. In Ayurvedic herbal medicine systems the plant is considered diaphoretic, anthelmintic, purgative, and emetic; it is employed in India for stomach tumours, piles, gonorrhoea, intestinal parasites, fever, and warts.
