Alpinia calcarata 'Snap Ginger'- A great looking medium height (4 to 5 feet) ginger, originally from India. A very vigorous grower that is cold hardy. Produces, on old growth, a nice raceme of white and maroon flowers that superficially resemble snapdragon flowers. ALPINIAS--Come in all sizes from small to large. Leaves are frequently fragrant. Gingers are the queen flowers of the plant world. They are the source of wonderous fragrances and possess exquisitely delicate foliage and flowers.
