Bitterroot Restoration

This plant grows up to 20 cm long, 1-3 mm in diam. Their leaves opposite; stipules lanceolate or linear, 1-1.5 mm, easily fallen. Male flowers few, slightly exserted from involucre.

This hairy plant grows up to 2' in height.  It has numerous small flowers clustered together with opposite oblong leaves, which have a toothed margin. The young yellow fruit is a small hairy capsule with 3 reddish - brown wrinkled seeds.

The plants are woody shrubs or trees with a caustic, poisonous milky sap (latex). Their roots are fine or thick and fleshy or tuberous. Many species are more or less succulent, thorny or unarmed.

Eupatorium odoratum is a species of flowering shrub in the sunflower family. It is aromatic shrub, covered in fine grey hairs.Their stems rounded and blades ovate to diamond shaped, 5-15cm long.

Embelia ribes  is a large  scandent shrub. It is a creeper which has a brittle stem. Their leaves are ovate in shape having both the ends sharp. It is about 3 inch long and 1 ½ inches broad, shiny and nodulated.

Eleusine indica is an invasive species in the grass family. It is a small annual weed distributed throughout the warmer areas of the world to about 50 degrees latitude. It is an important weed in cultivated crops, lawns, and golf courses.
