The plants are dioecious. It is unique among the cycads in not forming seed cones on female plants, but rather a group of leaf-like structures each with seeds on the lower margins, and pollen cones on male individuals.

Cuscuta reflexa (dodder) is an unusual parasitic vine related to the Morning glory family. The plant is leafless and rootless. It flowers range in color from white to pink to yellow to cream. Some flower in the early summer, others later, depending on the species.

Curcuma zedoaria (Zedoary) is the name for a perennial herb and member of the genus Curcuma. It is a rhizome that grows in tropical and subtropical wet forest regions.

Curcuma aromatica is an aromatic and pretty ginger with stout underground rhizomes. Foliage dies down in late in autumn and the rhizomes remain dormant in winter. The inflorescence appears in early spring from the base of the rhizome.

Curculigo orchioides is a perennial herb with underground rootstocks. Its leaves are narrowed, long and linear with base sheathing. The flowers are golden yellow, about 1 cm. across in small racemes.

Cucurbita is a genus in the gourd family Cucurbitaceae first cultivated in the Americas and now used in many parts of the world. Cucurbita maxima, one of at least five species of cultivated squash, is one of the most diverse domesticated species, perhaps with more cultivated forms than any other crop.

Cucumis sativus is a widely cultivated plant in the gourd family. It is a creeping vine that roots in the ground and grows up trellises or other supporting frames, wrapping around ribbing with thin, spiraling tendrils.

Cucumis melo is a species of melon that has been developed into many cultivated varieties. These include smooth skinned varieties such as honeydew, crenshaw and casaba, and different netted cultivars (cantaloupe, Persian melon and Santa Claus or Christmas melon).

Cryptolepis buchanani a climbing tree, is used as folk medicine in southeast Asia.
